Number the pages of any PDF
Page numbers make a document easier to read, reference and print in order, but PDFs often arrive without them. This tool adds page numbers to any PDF, positioned and formatted how you like, entirely in your browser. Your document is never uploaded, and it is free with no signup and no watermark.
How it works
- Upload your PDF and choose where the numbers should sit, such as bottom centre or top right.
- Pick a format: plain numbers, 1 / 10, or Page 1 of 10, with the total filled in for you.
- Set the starting number and download the numbered file.
Small touches that look professional
Choosing the right format and position makes a real difference: a report reads better with Page 1 of 10 at the foot, while a booklet might want a simple number. Being able to start numbering from any value helps when a document is one part of a larger set, or when the first page is a cover you do not want counted.
Private and part of the toolkit
The numbers are drawn onto each page locally using a built-in PDF library, so nothing is uploaded and the rest of your document is left untouched. Combine it with the other Etoolio PDF tools, merge, organize, watermark and compress, to produce a finished document without a single upload.
