What a watermark is good for
Watermarks are ideal for marking status (DRAFT, FINAL), ownership (a company name) or sensitivity (CONFIDENTIAL, DO NOT COPY). A semi-transparent diagonal stamp stays readable over the content without hiding it. It is a clear visible deterrent, but like any text on a page it is not hard security: for real access control, use a password instead.
