What the personal AI context generator does
This tool builds a portable about-me.md, a short personal context file that tells any AI assistant who you are and how you like it to help. Fill in a quick wizard and it assembles a clean Markdown file you can paste into ChatGPT's custom instructions, a Claude project, or Gemini's saved info. Every field is optional, and the file is built entirely in your browser as you type.
Why keep a personal context file
AI assistants are becoming part of daily work, but each keeps its own memory and forgets you between chats. A single maintained context file means you explain yourself once, then get consistent, personalised answers across every assistant, and when something changes, you update one file instead of re-training each tool. It's the personal equivalent of an llms.txt for a website.
What goes in it
- Who you are — name, role, location and time zone.
- Background & expertise — what you know well.
- How you like AI to respond — tone, format and length.
- Always / Never — habits to encourage or avoid.
- Current focus and tools — what you're working on and the stack you use.
How to use it
- ChatGPT: Settings → Personalization → Custom Instructions.
- Claude: your profile settings, or a Project's instructions.
- Gemini: Saved info.
Good to know
- Nothing is uploaded, your details stay in your browser until you paste them.
- Keep the downloaded file and update it over time, then re-paste when it changes.
- Leave out anything sensitive you wouldn't want stored in an assistant's memory.
